Empowering the next generation of women in financial services

For nearly 30 years, Raymond James has supported women in the financial services industry through the Women Financial Advisors Network. As part of our ongoing commitment to increasing the number of women in financial services, specifically in the role of financial advisor, the Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) helps to kickstart the careers of new advisors, providing mentorship, support, and opportunity through existing Raymond James advisory practices.

The Advisor Mastery Program supports women by hosting special events and creating opportunities for trainees to meet with successful women advisors, exposing them to the possibilities that await them through hard work and commitment to both client service and the core values of Raymond James. They’ll get a chance to learn from those who carved a path forward for others to follow, absorbing the wisdom, advice, and ability to continue the trajectory of welcoming more women into the financial services industry in the future.

The stereotype that advising requires an overwhelming emphasis on math and statistics has stifled the interest of many women in the field of financial services. Despite many women possessing the innate skills that produce talented and effective financial advisors, they remain an underrepresented demographic. Rather than degrees in finance alone, we believe the most effective means of ushering women into successful careers as financial advisors is to facilitate their ability to prove a commitment to building relationships and understand individual’s needs on a personal level.

That is where AMP comes in. By creating an environment in which women advisors early in their careers can thrive, they are able to gain the confidence, skills, and experience necessary to join the financial services industry and have an impact for others who come after them.
